The cycles have resulted in relatively rapid evolution and speciation, and this, too, has impacted the various human populace inhabiting Infinity Horizon.

And among the most interesting of these off-shoots are the Jigarkhwar. Lacking the ability to synthesize the protein, L-arginine, they prey on other human species which produce it naturally. They also have genes FAM204A and EXOC4 activated, which are dormant in normal human species. This allows the Jigarkhwar to enter a dormant state where their metabolic rate slows down drastically, allowing them to remain alive for long periods, even years, without food.

A whole host of other ‘primal’ genes reactivated has allowed them traits not found in base humans such as enhanced strength, greater resistance to disease, and enhanced healing. Their eyes are also more attuned to seeing the dark but it also means their eyes are blinded and even quickly damaged by direct sunlight.

They are also psychological adaptations such as extreme levels of psychopathy and a diminished level of empathy given their main prey are other human beings.

Jigarkhwar are thought to be extremely long-lived. However, this is only because much of their lives are spent in a dormant state. If they were to remain active as normal humans, their life spans would only be slightly longer due only to their higher disease resistance.
