Originally thought of as a super-earth, this gargantuan planet’s surface was soon discovered to be a shell encased around a gas giant. The original builders of this mega-structure remained unknown, nor could it be truly deciphered how ancient it was. Nevertheless, because the surface gravity was similar to that of Earth and already contained a breathable atmosphere, it was ripe for human colonization.
It soon boasted the second-largest population outside of Earth but outranked all in terms of wealth, innovation, and science. Yet, a mere hundred years later, suddenly all communication was lost with the planet as its entire surface became covered in an enigmatic mist.
When a survey team was sent to assess the situation on the planet, they found a barren, dead surface striped of any human presence. Numerous investigations were conducted yet the mystery was never unraveled.
